Board of Directors
FUNCTION: The WIN Board of Directors (BoD) is responsible for the strategic direction of WIN, including:
TIME COMMITMENT: The BoD is active year-round; regular Board meetings are monthly and committee meetings are ad hoc. BoD members are encouraged to actively participate in WIN functions. BoD members serve a 2-year term and can be re-elected. An average time commitment is four hours per week (16 hours per month).
COMMENT: The Board seeks women comfortable in a leadership role on an active Board who are motivated to guide WIN to new levels of excellence in delivering our mission to "make a significant impact in New Hanover County." We are looking for Board members who bring a strategic mindset, a get-it-done approach, and strong interpersonal skills, combined with a collaborative, inclusive style. Broad knowledge and relationships across the non-profit landscape in NHC OR Non-profit leadership experience and communications expertise are highly desirable skills/experience.
As our membership is increasingly diverse across many dimensions (age, stage of life, non-profit/for-profit, work-at-home/employed/retired, professions, race, religion, orientation, etc.), we want to see that diversity reflected on the Board.
BoD members must be WIN members in good standing.
